Throughout my life I have embraced opportunities to develop my knowledge and skills by studying, travelling and listening to others. Some of my less conventional experiences have included living on a deserted tropical island doing marine conservation, and qualifying as a dive instructor. However, the last five years of my life has been a journey that I was not expecting. It has been far from easy at times but I have certainly learnt a lot and it has definitely given me an insight into myself! It has given me the opportunity to reassess what is important to me and made me realise that I am capable of achieving it. I have a BSc in Chemistry, a PGCE, 16 years teaching GCSE, A Level and IB Chemistry, including in person and online teaching, using a range of learning platforms. I am an experienced Sixth Form Tutor, successfully guiding students through the university application process, and I am a Higher, and Extended, Project Qualification (HPQ and EPQ) supervisor. I have also set up successful Peer Mentoring programmes for both students and colleagues. I have extensive exam board experience, including as an Assistant Principal Moderator, reviewing exam papers, and an A Level Examiner. I have also been an Assistant Housemistress and worked in marketing, personnel and training.
